In terms of its appearance and feel, molybdenum disulfide is similar to graphite and, like graphite, it is widely used as a solid lubricant. It is often incorporated as a component of blends and composites where low friction is sought.
Molybdenum trioxide can be formulated with molybdenum disulphide to create a solid lubricating material consisting essentially of an intimate mixture of about 15 to 50 mole percent molybdenum trioxide to molybdenum disulfide. This material is particularly useful under extreme environmental conditions such as very high temperatures or under vacuum.
MOLYZOL® Friction Modifiers and Anti-wear products are widely used as lubricant additives in greases and oils, including engine and industrial oils. The specially formulated molybdenum complexes and chemical composition of the MOLYZOL® range provide lubricants with excellent antioxidation, anti-wear and friction-reducing properties, even under extreme pressure and high temperatures. The MOLYZOL® range has both liquid and powder options available.

Bislube Extreme Pressure Anti-wear DM 89 increases the Timken OK value and weld load value.
Bislube Friction Modifiers are molybdenum containing additives suitable for petroleum based greases. They display excellent antioxidant and friction reducing properties, even under extreme pressure and high temperatures. Bislube Friction Modifier MDBC is a powder composed of an organic molybdenum oxide sulfide dibutyl dithiocarbamate complex that is phosphorus free and can be readily dispersed into a suspension with mineral oils.
Bislube Ultra Nano EP Grease Additive 741 is a high performative alternative to molybdenum disulfide. Its proprietary nanotechnology and composition provides a durable protective film on metal surfaces. Reducing friction, improving extreme pressure and anti-wear properties of greases and lubricants.
Castor Derivatives
12-Hydroxystearic Acid is a mixed fatty acid obtained by hydrolysis of hydrogenated castor oil. 12-HSA is used in grease manufacturing, plastics lubrication and synthesis of other chemicals. It is a high melting, brittle, waxy solid at ambient temperatures.
