pH Control Additives

Potassium hydroxide is used in potassium-based drilling muds to increase pH and to help maintain the K⁺ ion concentration. Bisley supplies potassium hydroxide as both a flake and solution.

Potassium Hydroxide (Flake) TDS

Magnesium oxide increases the pH of water-based drilling muds and is safer to use than caustic soda. Once sufficient alkalinity is achieved magnesium oxide has a buffering effect on any newly introduced acidity.
